Rochelle Humes, 31, has revealed that she suffered from low iron levels during the pregnancy of her third child.
The TV host told her Instagram Stories followers that her doctor said her iron levels were “very low,” explaining that “they should be 110 or something above 110 but mine was of 80 “.
Humes said she suffered from low iron levels during her previous pregnancies with Alaia-Mai, seven, and Valentina Rose, three.
Despite these earlier diagnoses, the former Samedis Rochelle singer said that 80 g / l was “particularly low” for her.
Humes, 33 weeks pregnant, said she tries to rest during this time and eat foods rich in iron.
“I’m just trying to really rest. My blood pressure is also low … it is not affecting the baby and there are no warning signs, it would be worse if I have high blood pressure, but I think it makes you feel a lot worse, ”she said.
“I take my supplements and whatever I’ve been told to take and try to eat that much spinach. So I’m just trying to rest and relax.”

Symptoms of low iron levels during pregnancy, often described as iron deficiency anemia, include fatigue and lack of energy, shortness of breath and heartbeat or heart palpitations.

In rare cases, there may be risk factors such as premature birth, low birth weight, and placental abruption.
“It can be hard to read, but try not to worry too much because the risk is low. If you are diagnosed with anemia and treated properly, it is very likely that you will still have a healthy pregnancy and baby, ”says Tommy.

If your doctor suggests that your iron levels are on the verge of getting low, there are a number of foods that can be eaten to boost your levels.
Meat, legumes, green leafy vegetables, seeds (sunflower and sesame are best), nuts, tuna (no more than four medium-sized cans per week during pregnancy), whole grains and nuts are all great sources of iron.
It is recommended that you stop drinking tea and coffee, even decaffeinated versions, while trying to increase your iron levels. Adding kiwi, orange, potatoes, cauliflower, and parsley to your diet will also help absorb the iron you get.
